The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) sent back a check valued at N5 million to its holder, Mr. Godfrey Chukwudi, following its discovery during an inspection at the street-side pharmaceuticals trading area on Tenant Road in Aba, located within Abia State.
In a message released on Monday, NAFDAC stated that the amount was discovered and accurately tallied in the company of security personnel involved in the operation.
As per the declaration, it was subsequently verified that the funds were associated with a point-of-sale (POS) vendor.
The check was formally returned to the owner in the presence of Mr. Chima Amadi, President of the Ekumi Traders Medicine Dealers Association Union, along with NAFDAC officials, Pharm. Shaba Mohammed and Dr. Martins Iluyomade.
The message states, “NAFDAC sent back a ₦5 million check to its holder, Mr. Godfrey Chukwudi. The funds were found during the Open Drug Market initiative on Tenant Road, Aba, in Abia State. The amount was verified with several law enforcement officers present during the operation.”
It was verified that the funds were owned by a point-of-sale operator. The money was then returned in the presence of Mr. Chima Amadi, President of the Ekumi Traders Medicine Dealers Association Union, along with NAFDAC officials, Pharm. Shaba Mohammed and Dr. Martins Iluyomade.
