Morocco has received the title of “Best Partner Tourism Destination for 2025” from Welcome Travel Group, which is among Italy’s top travel organizations.
The award was conferred at the organization’s yearly gathering in Casablanca on April 5-6, which drew approximately 1,500 prominent figures in the Italian tourism industry, such as executives of travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, and event planners.
Asherf Faida, who serves as the Director General of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), accepted the accolade from the President of the Welcome Travel Group.
This recognition highlights Morocco’s increasing significance in the Italian tourism sector. As reported by ONMT, the honor acknowledges the nation’s persistent endeavors to boost its profile in Italy, emphasizing the crucial alliance with the Welcome Travel Group. This group accounts for 44%, or 2,492 travel agencies, of the local market share.
The hosting of this event in Morocco signifies the confidence that Italian tourism experts place in the country, and it is anticipated to enhance Morocco’s reputation as a premier travel location.
The event garnered extensive media attention, reaching 12 niche publications, which helped elevate Morocco’s image as a premier tourist destination globally. This success dovetails with ONMT’s “Light In Action” initiative aimed at strengthening Morocco’s footprint in key markets via targeted collaborations and on-ground efforts.
