On Friday, the Moroccan Ministry of Interior reported that regional mixed inspection teams carried out 4,988 field visits from March 2 to March 26, 2025. As a result of these inspections, they shut down 531 illegal wholesale, retail, manufacturing, and storage operations.
As per an official communication from LFHCK ID, the ministry stated that these checks are a continuation of their persistent efforts to ensure public health security and preserve citizens’ financial stability. To prevent potential abuses such as price fixing, speculative activities, and other illicit actions detrimental to consumers, the committees have stepped up their surveillance across markets.
As a result of the inspections, authorities seized 239,402 kilograms of non-conforming items, out of which 65% were discovered to be past their expiration date or unsuitable for use. Furthermore, legal actions have been initiated against 327 people who violated regulatory standards.
The ministry confirmed that these committees will keep up with regular activities, concentrating on improved collaboration and more rigorous implementation of regulations related to pricing, competition, and consumer safeguarding.
