Mohanlal’s “L2: Empuraan” Faces 17 Cuts Amid Controversy Over contentious Scenes

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), India – On March 30 (ANI): Superstar
Mohanlal
-starrer
L2: Empuraan
will experience some alterations due to disputes surrounding certain scenes.

The film’s production crew has indicated that approximately 17 modifications may occur, encompassing alterations to riots as well as scenes involving violence toward women.

The film hit theaters on March 27. Empuraan has made history as the first Malayalam movie to achieve a global opening gross of Rs 80 crore.

BJP leader V Muraleedharan said that the party had previously “made its position clear.”

The party has already stated its position, and the State President has explicitly outlined the BJP’s viewpoint. Being both a movie enthusiast and a fan of cinema, everyone is entitled to hold personal opinions. I haven’t watched the film myself. Regarding the party’s standpoint, the State President has been quite explicit about it. I believe it would be inappropriate for me to exceed his statements or disagree with him since he holds ultimate authority over issues concerning the state,” Muraleedharan said to the press.

K Ganesh, the state general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BYJM), posted on Facebook demanding an inquiry into the filmmaker’s international ties. He alleged that Prithviraj’s movies consistently exhibit an “anti-national” theme.

“The director and star of the movie ‘Empuraan,’ Prithviraj’s international associations require scrutiny. Following the completion of ‘Aadujeevitham,’ the concepts disseminated via his films have been wholly unpatriotic. From ‘Kuruthi’ to ‘Jana GanaMana’ and now ‘Empuraan,’ his works have persistently included storylines that gloss over radical beliefs,” the post stated.

Ganesh allegedly claimed that the circumstances surrounding director Prithviraj Sukumaran’s time in Jordan during the production of Aadujeevitham warrant investigation.

“While filming Aadujeevitham, he found himself stuck in Jordan. It’s crucial to examine who he interacted with during his stay there,” he noted. (ANI)
