Lisa from BLACKPINK Faces Major Copyright Fee Impact

It’s simply a gift from God.

Producer of The Black Label guided by Teddy, songwriter and artist for this year’s highly acclaimed Netflix animated movie “K-Pop Demon Hunters.” This follows the journey of Vince, a producer and vocalist associated with The Black Label under Teddy’s leadership.

Vince’s journey into the music industry had an unusual beginning. For most of his early education, including middle and high school, music remained merely a pastime. Initially, he pursued a degree in Economics during college. However, driven by growing passion for music, he switched majors to Music Business during his third year at university. Still, becoming a producer wasn’t something he initially aimed for. At one point, he even prepared for a law school entrance examination so he could handle issues related to copyrights based on his original field of study. Everything shifted after meeting producer 24. As an independent musician, Teddy discovered Vince’s tracks uploaded on SoundCloud and reached out via 24. With his parent’s approval, Vince temporarily put off attending law school to concentrate fully on music. Eight years later, he remains part of The Black Label. Throughout this time, he gained recognition for his talents by collaborating with numerous artists like Big Bang’s Taeyang, Jeon So-mi, Miyako, and All Day Project.

What I consistently find fascinating as a music producer is that every artist enters the studio intending to complete their project. Each individual possesses a distinct character, and the way they create music varies greatly. Often, I act as a mentor during this journey, yet there’s much to observe and understand. The interaction between us proves to be the most enjoyable part. Since I engage in conversations about my personal experiences with the artists, inquire about the type of music they enjoy, and then begin collaborating, it transcends simply producing tracks—it becomes an experience centered around understanding each person better. These instances hold the greatest charm.

Vince expressed endless love for the musicians he had worked with along with Teddy, who took him in.

If I had been alone, I couldn’t have done this, but I believe it became achievable thanks to a system where feedback was shared among different producers at The Black Label. For instance, taking the All Day project into account, the members possess strong personalities. They come up with many ideas and have great enthusiasm for songwriting and composition. As a producer, I felt like I was gathering and directing their input with the sense of being both an elder sibling and mentor, and we discussed our views together. We might refer to this approach as ‘organized chaos.’ After all, it’s Teddy’s leadership, and since everything operated under his broader vision, I simply needed to perform my role effectively. Miyao are truly gifted singers. In fact, working with a skilled artist is the most enjoyable aspect of being a producer. It allows me to convey numerous expressions. Miyao is an artist who still has much more to reveal, so I’m considering ways the audience can discover her true potential.

Among them, the most unforgettable performer is Taeyang.

Specifically, Taeyang was the initial artist who joined The Black Label as a producer. Working with Taeyang is consistently enjoyable since he shares an affinity for R&B, his vocal style, and his preferred musical tastes align closely. This applies to other artists too, yet there’s an excitement I experience whenever Taeyang begins to sing. I still vividly remember that exhilaration.

What is Vince’s most significant heartfelt song?

Actually, it’s difficult to know which song generated the highest earnings in terms of actual monetary value, but Lisa’s ‘Money’ had a significant influence.” Interestingly, it wasn’t even the lead single, yet it still appeared on the Billboard Global Chart as international responses surged. That’s why, when I looked into ‘Money’s income, I thought, “I’m truly earning a livelihood through music now.

Vince will unveil his latest single titled “Cha Cha Cha Cha” on the 18th. The song is a hip-hop R&B piece incorporating an upbeat Latin ChaCha beat with a gentle tune, featuring Big Bang’s G-Dragon.

“As a producer and musician, the main objective is to create a great track.” In his role as a producer, Vince maximizes the artist’s individuality, takes into account the artist’s views, and offers support wherever he can. Conversely, when Vince works as an artist himself, things are different because he has complete freedom to pursue the path he desires and convey the music style he wants without limitations.

What exactly is Vince’s objective? He hinted at an optimistic future through The Black Label.

Things have never changed for us. Regardless of whether something succeeds or fails, we simply ask, ‘What’s next? Let’s prepare for the next project.’ I maintain this attitude. That’s why I enjoy music so much. It unexpectedly reached the top of the music charts. ‘I’ve completed my task!’ But it isn’t quite like that. How can I improve it further?” We keep composing tracks while thinking about “In some ways, I feel greater pressure, yet it’s also more enjoyable.” The moment I spot my name “Vince” in the credits, I believe in this music and am willing to listen to it. “I aim to become a dependable producer. Fortunately, I managed to consistently release music. I hope to carry on this momentum as both a producer and an artist in the future.
