On Tuesday, Kim revealed their romantic tale. When questioned, “When did you consider marrying Rain?” she contemplated their path as a couple prior to getting married.
The celebrities initially came across each other in 2012. Rain later confessed that he felt attracted to Kim from the very moment he saw her. Once he got her mobile number, he rang her up to ask her out for dinner, yet she refused, stating, “There isn’t any point in us having lunch together.” Kim also explicitly mentioned to Rain that he wasn’t her kind of person.
The rejection ignited Rain’s sense of competition. “What’s happening? I’m a good person, not so terrible,” he remembered thinking back then. Shortly afterward, Rain started his required military duty. A year later, during a break, he messaged Kim and managed to invite her out for dinner.
Throughout their dating period, Rain expressed his emotions several times but was first rejected. Kim, who is two years older than him, feared he could be playful.
Nevertheless, Rain’s truthfulness and genuine nature ultimately convinced her. Kim remembered that during the initial stages of their relationship, Rain used to present her with little presents “in a way that didn’t make anyone feel obligated.” Every time she was exhausted or feeling low, these actions brought a smile to her face, helping her build a stronger connection with him.
The pair tied the knot in 2017 and currently have two daughters, who are eight and six years old. Kim shared that their kids look like both of them.
“Our older daughter has the top half of her face like me and the bottom half like him, while the youngest is the opposite,” she said. “It’s both funny and touching.”
After getting married, Kim has restricted her professional activities to concentrate on family life, participating in just four projects during the last eight years. In contrast, Rain has maintained an energetic career in both music and television. This year, Kim gained recognition for her role in the U.S.-made TV series “Butterfly,” which debuted on August 22.
