Dr. G Madhavan, the Chief, stated that the safe return of NASA astronaut Sunita Williams from her nine-month stay at the International Space Station is a source of great pride for the space sector.
“This marks an incredibly proud moment for everyone involved in the space industry. We have accomplished a challenging rescue mission that spanned almost nine months. Although the planning process required considerable time and effort, the execution was executed with remarkable precision. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to both the NASA team and SpaceX for their outstanding accomplishment. Given her Indian heritage, Sunita Williams’ return visit to India is particularly significant. Her most recent interview conducted aboard the spacecraft clearly demonstrates her robust health and unwavering confidence,” stated Nair to ANI.
Concerning the health issues, he stated, “There is actually no gravity affecting us. This means the whole circulatory system and how muscles function have changed. Additionally, research shows that bone marrow, crucial for producing white blood cells, can degrade as well.”
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh conveyed his pride and appreciation for NASA’s Space Crew-9 mission, rejoicing in the safe arrival back on Earth of astronaut Sunita Williams and her co-astronauts.
In his address to the social media platform X, Singh praised the astronauts for their fortitude and celebrated their accomplishment as a significant landmark in the realm of human space exploration.
“Pleased with the successful landing of NASA’s #Crew9 back on Earth! The team, which includes India’s own Sunita Williams along with other astronauts, has etched new chapters in the annals of human resilience and determination in space,” Singh posted on X.
The Defence Minister continued by commending Sunita Williams, stating that her voyage stands as a testimony to remarkable fortitude and determination.
Her extraordinary journey, steadfast commitment, resilience, and indomitable spirit will motivate countless people around the planet,” he remarked. Singh noted that Williams’s comeback was a time for rejoicing not just for those passionate about space exploration but for humanity as a whole.
The Crew-9 mission marked the fourth journey of the Dragon spacecraft known as Freedom, which had earlier been part of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-4 mission and the Axiom Missions 2 and 3. Following this latest trip, the craft will be examined and prepared for upcoming flights at SpaceX’s facilities in Cape Canaveral. (ANI)
