I Purchased a Stranger’s Lost Suitcase at Heathrow for £130—Here’s What Was Inside!

If you’ve ever misplaced a suitcase at the airport, you might believe that you’re sure to be reunited with your belongings eventually.

However, that isn’t really true.

Should luggage remain unclaimed for several months and the airport fails to reach the owner, another person might have the opportunity to purchase it.

What could be inside then?

Heathrow
Airport for £129.99.

In a TikTok video
, Carmie explained: ‘All the luggage [Heathrow] sell is unclaimed. Apparently the airport do everything they can to track down the owner for months.’

Purchasing misplaced baggage is always a deal.

Some fortunate purchasers may stumble upon pricey luxury goods, whereas others could be left with merely soiled clothes and inexpensive trinkets valued significantly lower than what they paid for their purchase.

Carmie records himself unzipping the suitcase to reveal a briefcase and multiple pairs of shoes on top.

The TikToker can’t discover what’s inside the enigmatic briefcase due to its locked state.

When it comes to footwear, Carmie finds that he has better fortune, as he owns a pair of Gucci sneakers (even though they are dirty), along with another pair from Alexander McQueen.

Then, Carmie takes a T-shirt and records himself sniffing it, yet he claims the odor is so awful that it made him retch.

He then discovers a Cartier shopping bag inside the suitcase with a product box inside. As he opens the box, Carmie says he’s starting to ‘freak out’ as he knows ‘how expensive Cartier stuff can be’.

Yet, upon opening the box, he feels let down as it turns out to be completely empty. The TikToker then discovers a receipt in the package indicating that the item cost €2,400/£2,007.

Carmie also discovers undergarments and socks within the abandoned suitcase, items he wishes not to handle.

Further inside the suitcase, Carmie discovers a Prada shopping bag with a brand new handbag inside but reveals he can’t tell if the purchase is ‘real or fake’.

In the end, the TikToker discovers an ‘authentic vintage Louis Vuitton bag containing a smaller purse’. Upon inspecting the contents of the small purse, he comes across the young woman’s identification and opts to reunite her with her lost belongings.

He clarifies: “I subsequently organized all items inside the suitcase as they were before” and sets out on a journey to return the luggage.

Users flocked to TikTok’s comment section to voice their opinions about Carmie’s misplaced baggage buy.

Spencer Elmer remarked: “Wow, that’s crazy! You struck gold!”

A previous commenter mentioned: “While working at an airport, I found that passengers are informed about their misplaced baggage and can choose to retrieve it. Perhaps she simply wasn’t interested in getting it back.”

A single user resisted the urge to make a personal purchase. ‘@Alycat_OO’ commented, ‘The dread of bedbugs would prevent me from considering such an action.’

At the same time, Pauline was concerned that her missing bag might have been purchased by another person. She commented, “I’m wondering whether my baggage, which was lost by Air France and never located, has been acquired by someone.”
