Honda, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, plans to begin sales of its inaugural electric bike manufactured in Vietnam, known as the ICON e:, with prices commencing at VND26.9 million ($1,040), set for April 12.
The ICON e, produced in Vietnam’s northern Vinh Phuc Province, comes in three versions: Sport, Special, and Premium. ThePremium model begins at VND26.9 million, with both the Special and Sport editions being marginally pricier, falling between VND27.1 million and VND27.3 million.
Honda will not sell the battery for the motorcycle; instead, they will offer it as a leased item for VND350,000 per month.

The battery can be removed for charging at home and takes 7.5 hours to charge completely, after which it will provide a range of 50 kilometers.
The ICON e: doesn’t demand a motorcycle operator’s license and is aimed at students.
Honda additionally provides an option for buying back motorcycles after three years and rejuvenating them for resale to new buyers. The firm declared that it plans to start renting out another electric variant, the CUV e:, beginning in July; this model will be brought into the country from Thailand.
It will be leased for VND1.5 million per month instead of being sold to collect customer feedback.
The CUV e: offers a driving distance of 80.7 kilometers when fully charged and can reach a top speed of 83 kilometers per hour.
