Here’s How Alfa Romeo’s Electric Future Unfolds in Singapore

It seems Alfa Romeo is set to join the ranks of manufacturers offering both electric and internal combustion variants of the same model.

With the global electric vehicle market experiencing inconsistent growth, numerous automobile manufacturers are adopting a fresh approach for their upcoming model lines:
You have the option to choose a hybrid or a fully electric model.
, depending on what suits your needs better. It seems that Italy’s Alfa Romeo plans to follow a similar approach with its upcoming SUV and sedan models.

Alfa Romeo is discontinuing the Giulia and Stelvio, which were exactly what enthusiasts desired from the marque. These vehicles will be succeeded by entirely new models developed under their parent company.

Previously, we didn’t get an official word about the EV variant, but Alfa Romeo appears to have hinted at it through teaser images for the upcoming Stelvio model.

Multiple images featuring a camouflaged Stelvio prototype undergoing winter tests have been shared, and we can confidently say this model will be all-electric. Key indicators include the absence of exhaust pipes at the rear end and an orange high-voltage label placed in the top section of the front windscreen. Additionally, the wheel design seems optimized for aerodynamics; however, these details are somewhat hidden due to the camouflage and spinning tires.

At the forefront of the prototype, nearly all areas are sealed shut, leaving just a tiny aperture at the bottom of the bumper to allow airflow. Additionally, the door handles seem to be designed as flush-mounted, indicating that Alfa Romeo is prioritizing aerodynamic efficiency for this design. While this observation isn’t conclusive proof that the prototype is electric, it does suggest a strong emphasis on aerodynamics within this specific car model.

When you look at its frontal appearance, it sadly features a divided headlamp layout, where LED daytime running lights sit atop the smaller positioned headlights below. This particular styling approach has become quite prevalent across the automotive sector recently; however, it often leads to divisive aesthetics instead of universally appealing looks.

If any carmaker can achieve this, it’s Alfa Romeo, and ideally, the Stelvio should have a more appealing design.

This provides us with clues about how the new, larger SUV might appear. Alfa Romeo offers a clear view of the car’s side profile, indicating that it is more substantial compared to previous models. However, it retains an almost coupe-style sloping roofline towards the rear, much like the present-day Stelvio.

In two of the preview images, Alfa Romeo reveals the prototype drifting, suggesting that it will keep the present model’s rear-wheel-drive characteristic for the upcoming version. The final picture in the collection truly demonstrates just how much drift capability it has, which will be essential in today’s automotive landscape.

it’s quite puzzling.

However, this platform can be adjusted and customized to have a distinct feel compared to Alfa Romeo vehicles, supporting both 400- and 800-volt systems. Stellantis claims it can accommodate battery packs as large as 118 kilowatt-hours and achieve acceleration from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) within “the two-second bracket.” Additionally, it supports various drivetrain options, such as plug-in hybrid configurations.

As Alfa Romeo has begun hinting at the upcoming Stelvio, its complete reveal isn’t distant. The vehicle is scheduled to make its debut sometime within this year prior to hitting the market in 2026, alongside the Giulia, as seems to be the plan.
