Gov Eno Launches Overhaul of Tropicana Complex for Growth

The government of Akwa Ibom State has revealed intentions to convert the Tropicana Complex into a contemporary center for commerce and recreation, under Governor Umo Eno’s larger initiative focused on city revitalization and growth.

As part of this effort, the governor has instructed the Uyo Capital City Development Authority (UCCDA) to start removing buildings inside the area to make room for current and upcoming developments.

A declaration released by the State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Aniekan Umanah, stated that this action will facilitate the finishing of key structures such as the Convention Centre, the Ibom Hotels Initiative, and the ARISE Shopping City.

On Wednesday during his site visit for the project, Governor Eno stated that governmental development initiatives should not face obstacles, noting that availability of public amenities is essential for achieving the state’s economic and tourism strategic blueprint.

Key parties, such as community and industry organizations based in the region, are anticipated to move out in order to facilitate the renewal project.
