Manager Hansi Flick was enraged.

His team’s fixture list before their match against Osasuna tonight, coming only two days after the conclusion of the international break.
The match was originally set to take place earlier this month but was delayed after the passing of Barcelona’s team physician, Carles Minarro Garcia.
Barcelona enters the match topping La Liga thanks to a better goal differential compared to their opponents.

, as both teams have accumulated 60 points each.
Nevertheless, the Catalonian team will be playing their postponed match against Osasuna tonight, which could see them move three points ahead at the summit, thereby lengthening their undefeated streak across all contests to 19 matches.
Following such a brief respite after the international break, particularly with the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying matches concluding early Wednesday morning, Flick couldn’t conceal his frustration over the match schedule.
“It isn’t an ideal scenario for them. The players have participated with their national teams, which is unfavorable,” stated the Barcelona manager.
‘We now have to face Osasuna, and we must discuss if this is the appropriate moment. I am not satisfied. Other leagues handle it differently.’
Despite this, Flick maintained that no apologies would be offered, and that his top-ranked squad has what it takes to defeat any team, regardless of having little rest time.
He went on: “I can’t alter that fact. It’s just my personal view. However, we will be playing, so let’s not make any excuses. The squad is prepared, and we must aim for top-notch performance. We’re all-in.”
The caliber of our team is strong enough for us to defeat anybody, regardless of whether the players manage to achieve their ideal amount of rest.
Flick was notably irritated because two key players – central defender Ronald Araujo and striker Raphinha – won’t be present tonight.
The former participated for the full 90 minutes as Brazil suffered a 4-1 loss to Argentina, with the match concluding around 2 AM UK time on Wednesday—58 hours prior to Barcelona’s encounter against Osasuna.
In the meantime, Araujo was named as an unused substitute when Uruguay played against Bolivia on Tuesday, yet he will still be unable to play due to an injury.
Flick added, “They won’t be participating. The journey is lengthy, and the circumstances aren’t ideal. They need time to recuperate and prepare for training; afterward, we’ll reassess come Sunday.”
