The Ministry of Commerce and Industry stated officially that during his address, he highlighted the significance of a robust legal and arbitration system in fostering India’s swift economic expansion and its aspiration to emerge as a leading global production center.
Goyal emphasized that both arbitration and mediation are crucial for diminishing judicial backlogs and fostering a stable, clear business atmosphere.
He highlighted the importance of trust in arbitration processes and recognized worries about the impact of major companies and global prejudices. The Minister encouraged all parties involved to enhance arbitration procedures within India so as to improve their effectiveness and fairness, thus promoting a business environment that is more welcoming to investors.
When discussing India’s progress, Goyal emphasized the country’s strong economic performance, noting that India is currently the quickest-growing significant economy and is expected to become the world’s fourth-largest economy by fiscal year 2025-26.
He credited this advancement to substantial policy changes, such as streamlining business rules and reducing criminal penalties for more than 180 legal clauses via de-criminalization efforts.

He confirmed the administration’s commitment to boost arbitration effectiveness via technological incorporation and regulations aligned with global benchmarks.
