On April 7, renowned Pakistani actor Affan Waheed stated that he was misidentified as Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor by his admirers in London.
The performer, famous for his part in the television series “Do Bol,” made a recent appearance on a privately broadcast program. There, he recounted a fascinating episode from his personal experiences. In one of the segments designed as a game, the host requested that he disclose something true about himself.
Affan Waheed remembered, “While I was in London for a work assignment, I left a restaurant when some Indian fans came up to me and exclaimed, ‘You must be Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor!’ I went along with their assumption and confirmed it. Soon after, they began taking photos with me, believing I was indeed Ranbir Kapoor.”
Affan Waheed chose not to identify the public figure, stating, “I decided against mentioning anyone specifically because individuals could start trolling with questions like, ‘Why isn’t Ranbir Kapoor named here, and why aren’t we mentioned?’ Therefore, I remained silent on this matter.”
Actor Agha Ali, who was also present at the event, disclosed that the confusion was actually about Ranbir Kapoor, whom the fans mistakenly identified as him.
Previously, South Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna shared that during their work together in ‘Animal,’ Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor caused her to shed tears on set.
Ranbir Kapoor not only made his co-star Rashmika Mandanna shed tears during their scenes together in ‘Animal’ when his character betrayed and hurt hers, but he also brought about joyful tears from her after filming through a touching act.
During an interview, Mandanna revealed that she struggled to hold back her feelings when Ranbir Kapoor brought her a meal from his place after she had finished eating what she described as ‘dull food’.
While filming, I mentioned that my breakfast was incredibly dull,” she recounted. “To my surprise, Ranbir Kapoor had a delicious meal delivered for me the following morning. His chef prepared everything. When he brought over the breakfast, I couldn’t help but start crying. I thought to myself, ‘How could the same kind of food taste so amazing? This is just too wonderful.’
“And he said ‘Why are you eating such dull food?’” recalled the ‘Pushpa’ actor. “I responded, ‘You have the fortune of being served by a skilled chef, but we aren’t.’” He added, “We are just regular folks (hum aam aadmi hain), so we cannot afford to hire a cook from Hyderabad or anywhere else.”
Significantly, Ranbir Kapoor and Mandanna starred along with Triptii Dimri, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor in director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s neo-noir action thriller ‘Animal,’ which was among the top-grossing movies of 2023.
