Endrick hints at Real Madrid exit as Brazil starlet fears missing out on World Cup after season of sitting behind Kylian Mbappe in pecking order

Endrick has signaled his interest in departing, thus opening the door for possible suitors.

The 18-year-old forward is yet to start a

match with France star
Kylian Mbappe
guaranteed a place in Real Madrid’s line-up.

Endrick felt the consequece of his lack of game time when he was initially left out of Brazil’s last squad for this month’s World Cup qualifiers before an injury to
Neymar
noticed he was added tardily to the gathering.

When Dorival Junior omitted Endrick from his team last November, the Brazil coach emphasized that this decision was because he lacked playing time.

“We don’t have the luxury of time for practice or to help players get back into top shape. The key question is: Are they performing or not?” he stated.

Endrick, who has netted six goals in 28 matches since moving from Palmeiras to Real Madrid last year, confessed to Brazil’s iconic player Romario during an interview that he was beginning to lose patience.

‘Frankly speaking, what often runs through my mind is the fear that I might not make it to the World Cup,’ he shared.

You, Romario, have experienced similar situations; my father once mentioned that you had hoped but did not receive a call-up back in 1998. This makes me feel anxious since it’s also my dream. It’s tough to express as I aspire to participate in the World Cup and contribute to Brazil winning its sixth championship.

Sure, it’s challenging to be part of the largest club globally, featuring star-studded teams, when playing time isn’t guaranteed.

‘However, every time I participate, I aim to showcase my personality so as to make it into the national squad. I’m hoping that next year, I might get selected for the national team, and should fate permit, we could triumph at the World Cup.’

Since Endrick made his debut for Brazil in November 2023, he has netted three times in 13 matches.

Several teams will be keeping an eye on Endrick due to his recent remarks. In December 2023, Endrick’s father disclosed that Chelsea had pulled out of acquiring the 16-year-old just before he signed.

And
DefensaCentral
reported just last week that the London club was prepared to offer £105 million for both Endrick and Rodrygo from the Real team in a potential package deal.

Endrick is still away with the national team and aims to seize the chance to showcase his talents to Ancelotti—and potential buyers—on Tuesday during their match against bitter rivals Argentina, who will be missing their captain Lionel Messi.

Brazil has not emerged victorious in Argentina since 2009.

And they stand at number three in their South American qualification group following their 2-1 victory over Colombia at home.
