As Eid-ul-Fitr approaches within a few days, markets and bazaars in Kashmore and nearby regions are teeming with eager shoppers, particularly women and children. This occasion marks one of the most significant religious celebrations in the nation, taking place right after the conclusion of Ramadan. Observers have noted that preparations for the festive observance of Eid-ul-Fitr are well underway across various locations including Kashmore, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, and others.
Despite the significant crowds observed at various markets such as the Ladies Market, Shahi Bazaar, Shujrah Chowk Market, Awan Market, the Main City Bazaar, and several locations within Kandhkot, things remain lively.
Residents of Kandhkot have established makeshift booths in key areas to sell various goods. Women and children can be seen engrossed in buying accessories like footwear, bracelets, jewelry, and cosmetics to complement their Eid outfits. “I’m searching for distinctive and fashionable shoes and bracelets, but so far, none meet my preferences,” remarked Hoor Fatima, who was browsing with her young sibling.
Many shoppers have voiced concerns about the steep pricing of children’s clothing, attire, and footwear. Mrs. Unzila mentioned that pre-made garments, particularly those intended for kids, had reached exorbitant levels; thus, she decided against making any purchases before leaving.
Ayaan Khan and Azaan reported having finished shopping for both themselves and their relatives during the early part of the sacred month of Ramadan, taking into account the significant crowds anticipated later on. However, they criticized the lack of regulation over garment and shoe prices within the city, noting that retailers appeared unconcerned when increasing costs excessively.
Observations indicate that store proprietors and booth managers are highly satisfied due to increased sales volumes in apparel, footwear, and beauty products, resulting in substantial profits.
