Dollar Hits New All-Time Highs Against the Dong

The American currency reached a record high compared to the Vietnamese đồng early Thursday, having hit multiple peaks throughout the week.

Vietcombank increased the price of the US dollar by 0.06%, reaching VND26,536.

The Central Bank of Vietnam increased its benchmark rate by 0.04% to VND25,273.

The U.S. dollar increased by 0.11% to reach VND26,580 in the unofficial exchange rate.

The U.S. dollar remained just under a one-week peak on Thursday, with Asian stock indices showing varied performance as traders prepared for three days of possible significant financial developments arising from the Federal Reserve’s conference in Jackson Hole,

The U.S. dollar remained nearly unchanged at 147.38 yen.

The euro remained steady at $1.1645, while the British pound was unchanged at $1.3454.

Crude oil and gasoline stockpiles fell more than anticipated in the United States, causing oil prices to rise slightly due to increased confidence in ongoing demand.
