Deputy Mayor Dangol Heads to Belgium for Key EU Meetings

KATHMANDU, April 5 — The Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), Sunita Dangol, will leave for Belgium today upon an invitation from the European Union.

The European Union has extended an invitation to Dangol to study the best practices advocated by the EU and also to allow them to present the effective programs implemented by KMC.

The Deputy Mayor Dangol has planned study trips to different areas in Belgium aimed at examining advancements in urban planning. Following her time in Belgium, she will head to Luxembourg with the intention of observing judicial processes during her visit.

While visiting, she will also acquire knowledge about the European Union’s procedures and the measures taken for conflict resolution. During her itinerary, she plans to engage in talks with regional administrations concerning multiple topics.

Dangol further noted that there would be a chance to share insights with UNESCO in Belgium concerning the initiatives taken for safeguarding cultural heritage in both Belgium and the metropolitan area.
