BTS V: Unstoppable Star — Ticket Sales Surge 500% in ML Debut

BTS member V concluded the initial presentation for the U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB) effectively.

V served as the opening pitcher ahead of the game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on the 26th (Korea time). As V stepped onto the field wearing the LA Dodgers jersey, the stadium erupted into enthusiastic cheers. Accompanied by the popular track “MIC Drop” from BTS, V delivered an impressive first pitch with a radiant grin.

V once again unexpectedly appeared on the field and yelled the LA Dodgers’ famous phrase “It’s time for Dodger baseball!” to energize the crowd instantly. This line was famously used by iconic MLB announcer Vin Scully to kick off an LA Dodgers game. V confidently repeated it, turning all of Dodger Stadium into a wild celebration.

Local media outlets also responded with great excitement. In the role of the opening pitcher, “V has become a worldwide phenomenon. As soon as the announcement about the first pitch came out, ticket sales skyrocketed, and because of this, numerous fans will be present at the stadium.” Indeed, the booking website’s server crashed temporarily after the news broke that V would serve as the opener. According to the online ticketing service StubHub, ticket sales for the match increased over fivefold from usual levels. The broadcast station further emphasized V’s international influence, referring to him as an “undisputed superstar.” Regarding his pitching skills, he said, “I delivered a good curveball. I even requested him to sign a deal immediately.”

V informed his agency, Big Hit Music, that he had attended a Los Angeles Dodgers game with the group members since his debut. Returning here again after such a long time reminded me of those times, and it was enjoyable. It was pleasant to toss the first pitch at a location filled with memories from our initial days as an artist. If I have another excellent opportunity in the future, I would like to study more thoroughly and attempt pitching once more. I truly appreciate the passionate support from ARMY and baseball fans.
