BJP MP Hails New Immigration Bill as Crucial for India’s Security

New Delhi [India], March 28 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Aparajita Sarangi on Thursday praised the Union Home Ministry for introducing the
Immigration and Foreigners Bill
,

, calling it a “much-needed” piece of legislation to safeguard India’s national security by preventing the entry of infiltrators in the country.

“The country needed this bill very much. I thank the Home Ministry… Strict action will be taken against those who do not follow the rules… This bill has been brought to stop Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators from coming to India,” Sarangi told ANI.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, during the debate on the bill in the Lok Sabha, Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasised that the

, was necessary to strengthen the nation’s internal security.

Shah also reiterated the government’s position on immigration, stating that India is not a ‘Dharamshala’ and that those who pose a threat to national security will not be allowed to enter the country.

“Those who pose a threat to the national security will not be allowed to enter the nation. The nation is not a ‘Dharamshala'(rest house)…If someone comes to the nation to give its contribution to the development of the nation, they are always welcome,” he said.

Meanwhile, while speaking to ANI, BJP MP Brij Lal spoke on the Immigration and Foreginers Bill and also criticised the TMC government for allegedly issuing official documents and treating illegal immigrants as part of a vote bank. He emphasised that the bill would protect India’s integrity.

The circumstances in West Bengal are dire. Individuals are illegally infiltrating India via West Bengal. Residents near the border have alerted us that the TMC administration provided Aadhaar cards to Bangladeshi nationals, with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee incorporating them into her electoral support base. “This legislation safeguards our national integrity,” Lal stated to ANI.

Moreover, the Home Minister criticized the Trinamool Congress, stating that Bangladeshi intruders or Rohingyas access India via West Bengal. The minister added that out of 450 kilometers of planned fencing, construction is delayed as the state administration has not provided the necessary land.

He claims that Aadhaar cards are being distributed to unauthorized immigrants from Bangladesh in a region of West Bengal, after which these individuals move to various other areas of the nation.

Amit Shah also criticized the Congress party regarding the problem of unauthorized immigration within the nation.

Regardless of whether they are Bangladeshi infiltrators or Rohingyas, previously they would enter India via Assam during the time when the Congress party held power. Nowadays, they seem to cross into India through West Bengal, which is now governed by the Trinamool Congress. The question arises: who provides them with Aadhaar cards and citizenship? Every single Bangladeshi detainee found has had an Aadhaar card issued in the 24 Parganas region. It’s alleged you (the TMC) provide these individuals with Aadhaar cards, after which they move to Delhi equipped with voter IDs… By 2026, the BJP aims to form a government in West Bengal and intends to address this situation,” he stated.
