BJP Chief Predicts Positive Outcomes From India-Bangladesh Talks

Dhaka, April 6 — Advocate Andaleeb Rahman Partho, chairman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP), has voiced hope that the recently held bilateral discussions between India and Bangladesh will yield beneficial results for his nation.

On Saturday afternoon, addressing reporters in Bhola, Partho stated, “The talks between India and Bangladesh represent a constructive step forward and will yield favorable outcomes for our country.”

He went to his constituency in Bhola for the 17th death anniversary event of his father, the late Nazibur Rahman Manzur, who was formerly the mayor of Dhaka City, with the commemoration set for Sunday.

Partho commented, “The administration headed by Mr Yunus is a transformative one, emerging from a widespread revolt. Even though it didn’t come into power via an election, it remains a government for the people. Since our inception, we have pledged to support this regime so that it doesn’t falter.”

He restated the BJP’s long-held position regarding the necessity for reforms. “It has consistently been our view that reforms are essential,” he stated. “Significant changes ought to be introduced via individuals elected to represent the public’s interests.” He added, “This is precisely why we back Mr. Yunus in these efforts.”

Partho interjected, “I am inclined to think that the subsequent election will occur in December. The required changes will be implemented. Additionally, any remaining reforms will be undertaken by the new administration chosen by the populace.”

Emphasizing the party’s readiness, Partho stated, “The BJP has never been more robust. Starting from June, we will initiate district-specific dialogues aimed at gearing up for the upcoming general election.”

Also in attendance at the event were Bhola district BJP President Amirul Islam Ratan, General Secretary Motashim Billah, along with various other party leaders.
