ASELGON Mourns Oladunjoye: Death Shocks Colleagues

The Association of Former Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ASELGON) has expressed profound shock, unexpectedness, and devastation at the passing away of the Publicity Secretary for the Ogun State branch of the governing All Progressive Congress (APC), Honorable Tunde Oladunjoye.

Oladunjoye, who previously served as the Chairman of Ogun State Television (OGTV), was once the head of the Ijebu East Local Government Area in Ogun State. His background led him to be an engaged participant in ASELGON throughout his life.

The chairman of the Publicity Committee for the Association, Honorable Frank Ilaboya, issued a statement signing off on remarks about the late Oladunjoye. The statement characterized him as an exceptionally tough and energetic individual who dedicated his entire self to causes he deemed worthy.

Following the passing of our dear friend, humanity has mourned the loss of an empathetic soul. The community grieves for the absence of a willing ear and a source of solace, while the public has lost a dedicated advocate and protector. Our late associate would stop at nothing to bring joy to others.

Our departed colleague was an accomplished politician who consistently made a positive impact wherever he went after entering the political arena. Drawing from his career as a seasoned journalist, he effectively navigated his roles. He left lasting impressions both during his tenure as a local government chairman and at Ogun State Television.

In connection with Oladunjoye’s death, a significant setback for political engagement—Salako Speaker Abbas and Kalu denounce the Plateau slaughter; IGP summons Emir Sanusi regarding the Kano Eid al-Adha unrest.

His political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), likely noticed his adeptness at achieving goals based on his past work experiences. As a result, they appointed him as the Publicity Secretary for the state branch, a role he maintained up until his passing on Friday.

Sympathizing with the relatives of the deceased coworker, the message encouraged them to find solace and strength in the positive impacts created by their distinguished offspring.

Although the loss is distressing, I urge all grieving family members to find solace in the esteemed reputation our departed friend leaves behind.

Given the substantial challenges lying ahead in politics and various endeavors, we at ASELGON also experience a profound sense of loss. However, we remain thankful to God for allowing our late colleague to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life, which aligns with the common adage that quality outweighs quantity.

“We at ASELGON also empathize with Comrade Oladunjoye’s unexpected departure from his political party, APC, and encourage them to view this as an unchallengeable divine decision. We pray for Almighty God to provide solace to everyone affected and ensure a tranquil resting place for the soul of our late colleague. Amen,” the statement ended.
