Anger Unleashed: The Nation More Fuming Than Most

Our nation predates many others, situated near the center of a vast landmass At the heart of an imperial history, yet leading in poignant tales — Her roots remain shaken by events set forth By desires flowing from the West, marred by harsh treatment inflicted upon her Unjustly violated by those unfit for such deeds! Amidst her contemporaries, she bears more scars Than them due to the dismal heritage left behind Now striving to reclaim her dignity after losing honor To a foreign contender hailing once again from the Western world. Our homeland feels anger greater than most We owe no explanations unlike others Around us when we grieve over our fallen children Even offering aid becomes futile here too. This country carries heavier grievances than most Prepared to acknowledge wrongdoings within herself Having learned stern lessons through trials of time Warfare often proves decisive swiftly thereafter. However—ours remains a land friendlier than most Graced frequently by celestial bodies marking day’s end Spanning across varied landscapes along coastal winds Moreover, prosperity seems poised to surge ahead soon.
The poem originates from a writer who served with distinction in the Rwandan Defense Forces before retiring.
