The forthcoming Chevrolet Corvette Zora aims to be an innovative addition to the iconic Corvette series, possibly combining the E-Ray’s hybrid setup with the ZR1’s 1064 horsepower twin-turbo V-8 engine, resulting in more than 1200 horsepower. Besides this powerful drivetrain, it seems the Zora will also introduce significant interior changes; spy images show that the vehicle now lacks the array of buttons dividing the cockpit between the driver and passenger.
Theoretically, the array of buttons adds a cool factor reminiscent of a fighter jet’s cockpit when combined with the square-shaped steering wheel akin to a yoke. However, practically speaking, these buttons can be difficult to access and create a sense of separation during rides with another person. This layout significantly restricts the passenger’s ability to interact with the infotainment system since it sits hidden behind this panel and is tilted toward the driver.
It seems Chevrolet is now prepared to abandon the current layout in favor of a more open design, with this updated interior slated to become standard across all Corvettes starting from 2026 as part of comprehensive revisions. While some small clusters of buttons might remain within this new configuration, photographs indicate that the central control panel has been noticeably lowered, thus providing greater openness inside the vehicle’s cabin. Additionally, the cockpit appears focused around a larger display, one not so sharply tilted toward the driver and seemingly several inches wider than the present 8.0-inch touchscreen featured in Chevrolets’ sporty models.
Based on the spy images, the Zora doesn’t show many obvious design variations compared to its predecessor.
Corvette ZR1
, and units have been seen undergoing tests with an equally aggressive high-downforce setup akin to the ZTK Performance package available on the ZR1. The spy shots reveal that the Zora model will come in both coupe and convertible versions. More details regarding the Corvette Zora, along with potential upgrades for the broader Corvette range, are anticipated later this year or possibly early next year.
